Vulpiano Records

Marilyn Roxie

Vulpiano Records was launched in November 2009 by synth musician Marilyn Roxie, initially as a place to house great unsigned and independent artists they had come in contact with through networking in the music blogosphere. The concept behind Vulpiano is simple: to offer quality free music. Genres we specialize in are ambient, electronic, and acoustic. All artists are linked by their spirit of independence and experimentation. We hope you enjoy and share the music. Are you a music blogger, podcaster, or film-maker looking to feature a Vulpiano track in your content non-commercially? You can utilize any of the tracks in the Vulpiano library free for streaming or download as long as you credit the artist!

I previously described him on AFIN as having "a lovely delivery of lyrics, and a softly psychedelic style that is a perfect chill-out soundtrack". Go have a listen for yourself!

Vulpiano Records newcomer Deathbird Stories offers up a whole world of fuzzy drone in a single track. Creep through the dread and find hope again. About Deathbird Stories: One man recording project Deathbird Stories is built on a bed of heavily processed guitar and piano and manipulated tape loops. All forced through a huge string of pedals and effects to create these incredible undulating drones that pack the power, warmth and personality of Fennesz’s  Black Sea .

Providing a sample of what to expect in the soon-to-be future, along with the never before released b-side, "Underpass". Golden Grey has been compared to artists such as C148 and  Ratatat,  while maintaining a sound unique all on its own. It's ambient electronic music that builds towards epic finales, leaving the listener wanting more.  Follow-up  to  Awaken the Wolf .

"Keep Your Eye On The Time" is the second single from Richey's upcoming ninth studio album ('Ephemeral') and is backed by the b-side "Dystonia". This single is one of Richey Hackett's strongest songs yet, moving through soaring synths into a soothing, ambient conclusion. "Dystonia" shows off another side with relaxing guitar rhythms at turns becoming a bit more sinister.

Following Brevyn's single release on Vulpiano Records for Netlabel Day 2018, 'Sea Cave / Indigo' comes a re-release of their delightfully summery 'Liquid Sunlight' album, complete with bonus tracks ("Drinking the Dream", "Dark Depths") and an updated track order.  From Brevyn:  Liquid Sunlight was inspired by synth/sequencer-based new age of the 80s and early 90s like Vangelis, Spencer Nilsen [mostly his work on the Sega CD Ecco The Dolphin music] & Suzanne Ciani....

Haunting, insistent, droning music for rainy days. Blurring the line between noise and melody, this is Mutestare's first release on Vulpiano Records. A note about the album from Mutestare: "Don’t run; don’t avoid; confort does not equal solace; eyes all around your head, mouth as an exponent of a higher truth. All will be good, no aliens.“  Album art by Marilyn Roxie

A Netlabel Day 2016 Special Release I am very proud to offer the latest album from Neurotic Wreck on Vulpiano Records:  Glow Ghosts .  Glow Ghosts  has a little bit of everything that sole force Dan Wreck behind the musical project has on offer - sultry synth pop, girl-group inspired broken heart anthems, and sweet acoustic crooning. Recommended if you like Gary Numan, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Durutti Column. Neurotic Wreck has two previous Vulpiano releases:  Priceless, Bloody Priceless...

A dazzling and unnerving Vulpiano Records debut from Xqui. From Xqui:  Xqui uses media and field recordings via mobile phone, apps and a vivid imagination to create ambient, drone and experimental aural imagery.  There is no PR, there is no information, there are no words to promote Xqui. Just listen.  Name-your-price EPs and debut album can be found on Bandcamp - xqui.bandcamp.com/releases   Follow on Twitter -  twitter.com/XquiMusic   Enjoy.  "calming in parts but with a sometimes...

Homecoming from King Elizabeth on Vulpiano Records (VULP-0030) is an epic intro to this one-man band from the UK. With influences from post-punk greats like Joy Division and the Associates to psychedelic-tinged music like The Doors and The Stone Roses, listening to King Elizabeth provides not only a complete listening experience, but into the beyond as well. Homecoming is pulled from forthcoming album Obsessive Desires, plus the single release includes b-side Faith.

Microscopes is the latest musical endeavor of prolific Rate Your Music artist Chris Hunter and vocalist and lyricist Fred. The cover may yield a clue to the art pop genre tag applied to it, evident in splashes throughout VULP-0017, Points of Interest, though it is more of a curious odyssey in lo-fi electro-blues. Wheeling from eerie to romantic, soothing to jarring, Points of Interest is a veritable buffet of rich textures and emotional outpourings, This is the Night and Those Summer Days being...
